My (glitter) polishes from Cirque Colors: Electric Circus and Kaleidoscope

Hi everyone!

There is this awesome challenge called #wirlackieren for which Marzipany and Tinesuchtnachmehr announce one (or sometimes two) brands per month that everyone in the nail community will obsessively paint their nails with 😀 Everyone tries to show as many polishes of that given brand as possible within that month.

The brands in February are Cirque Colors and Cadillaquer. Unfortunately, I don’t own any polishes from Cadillaquer. But at least I have two (!) polishes from Cirque Colors that I can show you! Yay!

I bought these back in the day (2014), when a good glitter polish was hard to come by and when neon and matte glitters were the new thing in the nail world. I was obsessed with Electric Circus so I had to have it! I must admit the only reason why I ordered the second one (Kaleidoscope) was so that Electric Circus wouldn’t be so lonely. But I never regretted getting Kaleidoscope as well! Both Electric Circus and Kaleidoscope are one of the highest quality glitter polishes I own, and the glitters haven’t bled out or faded after 4 years, which is quite impressive!

So here is one coat (!) of Electric Circus over a white base (Catrice – Milky Bay). The glitter payoff is insane! It is really fool-proof and one coat gives an even coverage as shown on the picture below. I added one coat of Seche Vite Quick Dry Top Coat.

Next up is Kaleidoscope. It is a beautiful combination of various sizes and shapes of matte glitters. I didn’t put this one over a white base because it contains white glitter as well, so I chose a baby-blue creme polish instead (Color Club – Take me to your Chateau). The application of this one is a little more tricky – the clear base is quite thin so I had to snag the bigger glitter particles and place them on my nails. Nevertheless this is a fun nail polish that makes me happy every time I look at it! I topped this one with a coat of Seche Vite Quick Dry as well.

Those two polishes are all I can contribute to #wirlackierencirquecolors as they are (unfortunately) the only polishes I own from Cirque. Have you participated in the challenge? Are you going to participate next month?  The brand for next month will be Anny. I don’t own any polishes from Anny 😦 But I’m looking forward to all of your swatches!

Happy Sunday everyone and read you soon!

Femme Fatale – Clever Girl (Thermal Polish)

Hey beauties!

Autumn is here, and one of the nice side effects is that the effect of thermal nail polishes will be more visible due to the colder surrounding air temperature (at least if you manage to have warm hands haha). My first ever Femme Fatale nail polish (and certainly not my last) is this beautiful thermal polish called Clever Girl. When it is cold, it shows as a pinky-red base with golden shimmer and gold+holo glitters, and when your hands get warm it changes into a beautiful clear-golden base with gold shimmer and the same sparkles. It’s magic! Of course, the effect will get better the longer your nails are.

I wore Clever Girl in two coats plus one coat of Seche Vite TC. The wear was normal, I’d say about 2-3 days. Removal can be tricky because of the glitters, I recommend either using a Peeloff-Base or removing the polish with the foil method.

The first two pictures show the cold version

The next picture shows the “transition” – this is what Clever Girl looks like a lot when I wear it:

Here is a comparison of cold version on my index and middle finger, and warm version on my ring and pinkie finger:

Love the gradient effect (see below)

And the last picture shows what it looks like when your hands are very warm and the surrounding temperature is pretty cold: A very cool look with the red tips!

Thanks so much for stopping by my blog, I hope you enjoyed my post! Do you like thermal polishes?

Have a great weekend!

Glam Polish – Zodiac Cancer

Hi beauties!

I’d like to show you my first ever Glam Polish today! This shade is called Cancer and is from their Hypnotic polish store exclusive Zodiac collection. Since my zodiac sign is Cancer I had to have it (also because of the great berry base colour, the stunning holo and the mesmerizing red glitter particles!). It is a real beauty! I own lots of holos that show their bling in the sunlight but look a little dull and boring without direct light. The cool thing about this polish is that the little red glitter particles shine and glow in the shade which makes this nail polish unique! Very pretty.

Application was good, two easy coats were enough to achieve great coverage. When the polish dries it has a gritty/rough finish, something I already know from a lot of he Fun Lacquers I own. This happens because of the larger glitter particles but can be fixed with two coats of top coat (I used Seche Vite for the pictures below).
The wear was great, I took it off after the third day and there were no signs of chipping or tip wear yet.

Now to the pictures!

See these red glitters? I totally fell in love with those!
I bought Glam Polish Cancer at Hypnotic Polish.

So, what’s your zodiac sign and do you own a zodiac nail polish? 🙂

Happy weekend!
